The “Last Run” for Popular NJ Model RR Display

Any O Gauge model railroader can appreciate a good layout no matter what the scale.  The Garden State Central Model Railroad Club has been running a beautiful HO scale layout for over 35 years in Asbury Park, NJ.  Unfortunately, trains will be running for the last time on February 21st, 2009 during an open house.  Acording to the club’s website, the building that houses the layout has changed landlords and the club must relocate.    The layout “depicts scenes from the Lehigh Valley, Jersey Central, Laurel Line and Lacawanna Railroads on a route from Jersey City, NJ to Scranton, PA” and will be dismantled after the open house.   The open house runs from 12 to 3 PM on Saturday, February 21st.  Admission is free but the club is accepting donations to help with costs to pack up and eventually rebuild the club’s model RR in a new yet to be determined location.  Visit the Garden State Central Model Railroad Club websited for more details and directions.
