Atlas Turn, Turn, Turn?
Recently I started receiving email “News Flashes” from Atlas promoting something they are calling “Turn, Turn, Turn”. It’s a strange name for the promotion but here’s Atlas O’s explanation:
Each week Atlas will highlight one or two new products in each scale that arrived at Atlas a few months ago. Most of these products sell out immediately, but there are usually a few select pieces left. These ‘turn, turn, turn’ products are ones that some consumer seriously wants and we want to make sure you get them.
So essentially the “Turn, Turn, Turn” products are left overs that Atlas is trying to sell. Atlas provides a list of these products that can be downloaded but the list is in a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet, which some folks may not be able to open. If you don’t have Microsoft Excel visit the Microsoft site and download the Excel viewer here. Mac users such as myself are out of luck if they don’t own iWork or Office for Mac although an Excel viewer can be purhased for $19.95 from here (I haven’t tried it). Someone over at Atlas needs to learn how to create PDF documents so everyone can view the list effortlessly. Here a shot of the current O Scale list:

One Response to “Atlas Turn, Turn, Turn?”
OGaugeWatch reader Roger M. pointed out to me that a free alternative to Microsoft Office for Mac is NeoOffice, a free (donations accepted) “office like” productivity software suite that will open MS Excel spreadsheets. Thanks for the tip Roger.
